End Of The Year Post

It's been a bit since I posted anything here but let me try to make up for that with several items at once.

First let me start with a sneak preview of January's LIVE.
Many have expressed dismay at the prospect of writing about themselves and their art. Because of this, January's LIVE will tackle this problem. We will cover why it is important as well as suggestions and tips on how to write effectively to these points.
A full description of next month's LIVE will be on the
Education page on January 1st. While you are there, be sure to amble through the archives of previous LIVEs.

Now, about the
Please use the galleries to their full potential. You can put your work in up to three galleries. This does not mean that you have to put your work in three galleries. If a piece is only appropriate for one or two galleries, then those are the only galleries that they should go in. When your work is in the appropriate gallery, it is more likely to be seen and appreciated. To that end, here are a few more gallery definitions.

Assemblages and Mixed Media
Art created from a variety of items or multiple medias.

Art created in the 2.5 x3.5 format of the Artist Trading Card. This includes ACEO’s - Art Card, Editions and Originals.

Handmade or altered books.
Art featuring plants and flowers.

Art created from earthen clays.
Art featuring a composition of materials and objects pasted over a surface. This category includes digital collages.

And on to the Shows.
We have a variety of interesting shows on the calendar for this year. You can see the full line up in
November's Zine now and on the Shows page on January 1st. The Shows page is also the place to go for links to current and past shows.

If you have any questions about the galleries, shows or if you have questions or suggestions for LIVE, please let me know at

Happy New Year.
