EBSQ Chat Room
"Do you have a business card?" If you find yourself responding "NO," perhaps it's time to give this topic some thought. Handing someone a professional looking card helps make a positive first impression. In addition to its many uses as a marketing tool, an artist's business card is a great opportunity to make a unique artistic statement--think of it as a mini billboard advertising your artistic talents. The more original and striking the card, the more likely you will be remembered.
EBSQ member Wendy Gonick recently designed a business card to promote her artistic endeavors. She will walk you through her process, while introducing you to the basics of planning, designing and producing a professional business card specifically for an artist.
A professional graphic designer with 19 years of experience, Wendy Gonick has worked on a wide variety of design projects including business cards, logos, books, posters, postcards, catalogs and annual reports. She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design and currently runs tabula rasa graphic design (http://www.trgraphicdesign.com) with her husband. Wendy has always enjoyed making art, and appreciates time away from the computer to explore a variety of media. She particularly enjoys mixed media collage, watercolor and color pencil.
