This month's EBSQ Live:Introduction to Needle Felting - sheep pin cushion project
hosted by EBSQ Self-Representing Artists and Harlan
Monday, June 9th, at 9pm Eastern (6pm Pacific)
EBSQ Chat Room
"With this demonstration I will provide a basic introduction to the process of needle felting and making a sheep pin cushion. The chat will cover the various types of needles and fibers that are suitable for needle felting. The sheep pin cushion will allow the demonstration of basic needle felting techniques along with some more advanced needle sculpting resulting in a fun and useful pin cushion."
About the presenter: Harlan grew up around artists and knew at an early age that her future lay in the arts. While she has had formal training, she is primarily self taught and devoted years to studying the science behind oil painting which is her main artistic medium. Harlan has always maintained a wide interest in needle arts, from needle point, knitting, embroidery, weaving to, most recently, needle felting. Harlan picked up a needle felting kit last fall, read the instructions and promptly threw them away and dove in. As has been the case in the past, hands on training has always been her best instructor.
